Donation Statement

The goal of the Hashimoto’s Encephalopathy SREAT Alliance is to foster, promote, support, develop, encourage, solicit, maintain, receive and accept funds, gifts, grants and contributions for and on behalf of such purposes; to operate such other educational programs, entities and activities which, in the opinion of the Board of Directors, and at its discretion, will support the foregoing purposes.

No part of the net earnings of the not-for-profit corporation shall inure to the benefit of any private individual; no part of the income of the not-for-profit corporation shall be distributed to its directors or officers, provided, however, that the payment of reasonable compensation for services rendered shall not be deemed a distribution of income. 

The initives which HESA carries out are executed using private donations or funds received from the sale of it’s publications or other fund-raising merchandise. These funds are used to carry out the initives set forth by HESA to educate the public and physicians about Hashimoto’s encephalopathy and associated diseases and disorders as well as to educate the public concerning the need for increased funding for the detection, treatment, and ultimate cure of Hashimoto’s encephalopathy. Such activities are the publication of HESA’s books and speaking at public events to raise awareness and educate the public on Hashimoto’s encephalopathy. Future activies include and may not be limited to creation of additional publications, educational films, or raising funds to support scientific research.
